Yesterday was Shada's engagement party. Seems like everyone I know is getting officially committed. The party was so nice, and Shada looked really beautiful. Best of luck for Shada and Re'bal.

My friend Alma sent me this email, definitely worth blogging. i was wondering if you have any suggestions on groups and artists,
organizations etc. in the Arab world and the Mediterranean region
(Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Algeria,
Libya, Tunis, Morocco, maybe even Iran, did i forget any country??) who
are working on art for social change. these groups could be working in any medium of art, with any age
groups or social groups. social change could be defined as you wish...
no specific definition in my mind! thank you for your help. i am asking for this information because
i am trying to organize a meeting for some artists to work on the ideas
of free knowledge, art and society.

Daisy left a comment on my blog. I figured out that I wanted to write quite a long comment, which resulted on me writing this entry, first here's what Daisy wrote. You claim the USA wasn't attacked because we have freedom. I don't agree .. but perhaps we can agree that those who attacked us did so (in part) because they don't have freedom. As for the rest, look to jealousy and hatred as motivators. What supplies the fuel for the ignorance and hatred is Arab culture (which is mainly formed by Islam).
Now it's up to you to figure out the facts (and you don't have to be 'political' to figure them out).
All men are created equal. However, all religions are not equal. Find this fact Mr. Ibrahim: Which religion has produced the most tyrants in both the medieval and the modern world? Which religion systematically holds in contempt freedom, women, progress and objective truth? What is the name of the religion that put forward a beloved despot who ruled Iran and wrote treatises on how to have sex with animals instead of woman (women would contaminate - animals would not) (and this was only one despot among all the others who rule all over the Islamic world) What religion was founded by a man whose claim to fame was as a warlord, a thief, a murderer, a misogynist and a child molester?
If you've guessed Islam then give yourself a gold star. Well, I didn't guess, I've always been a naughty student, I got spanked quite often. I can't see how you relate things together. If america did something wrong do I have the right to blame it on Christianity? I just don't know how people think sometimes. Infact I don't have any problem with any religion, I just have problem with people who think in a fucked up way. 9-11 was a reflex darling, you slap someone in the face, next thing you see someone with a 9mm pistol aiming at your empty head. Innocent americans paid their lives for their administration's foreign policies. Can any american now figure out why they invaded Iraq? Invading Iraq probably produced more terrorism than the world ever witnessed, and then ignorants come and blame it on Islam. If a nutcase in say e.g. germany killed 10 people, they'd call it "zaw zaw terrorism or whatever". But if a nutcase blows himself off in the middle east, it would be labeled as Islamic terrorism.
And about the sex with animals, I can't believe how you relate this to Islam. Are you high or something? I really advise you to come and visit the middle east, probably you'd see things that your media didn't show you.
And just for the record, my best friend is Christian. I find people like you who attack different religions even worse than people who blow themselves. You had the chance to receive proper education, and express yourself freely, too bad you're bad material. As a muslim I always look for peace and friendship, not to fight with dumb ignorants. I suggest you open up your mind, and start viewing things in a different way.

An interesting article on satirewire "I had then, and still have
today, no personal opinions whatsoever as regards those guilty lying
bastards at Microsoft, or the evil prick son of a bitch who runs it,"
said Jackson, adding that his earlier negative comments were taken out
of context.

How to win? Find someone dumber than Jordan Uni's registeration dudes. You go to register, terminals are broken. System freezes. brand new computerized registration system written in 2005 that completely interacts with the user through keyboard. written in COBOL. No, mouse is evil, standard keyboard keys are evil, let's think outside the box, have a new interface that will challenge any student to navigate through. F7 for next page, F10 to exit, F5 to print, ops no printer attached. A system that doesn't handle 1000 logins at a time. When I was probably 17 I knew how to write better software. Oh hold your horses, we're not done yet. Rules change every semester. Now you need to pay within 48 HOURS or your registeration will be cancelled. If your family lives abroad and they transfer money to you, we don't give a damn, we'll cancell your registeration, dabber 7alak ya taleb ya 7ashara. We're full of surprises. Who said capital punishment is harsh?

What happened in Aqaba today started a debate on Roba's blog and other blogs. It's probably the first time I write a political entry, hopefuly not the last. First of all, terrorism needs a better definition. As the term caught fire after WTC attacks doesn't mean I totally agree on using it. Some people defending their countries and freedoms are referred to as terrorists, depends which media you like to listen to. What happened today qualifies as a terrorist attack in my opinion. But doesn't mean that Jordan is now the home of terrorists, infact I feel safe more than ever, what happened is minor, it pissed me off, ok. But I'm not afraid. And oh for those who think that they're fighting our freedom, please give me a break, it's just like playing back a low level IQ american's comment after WTC attacks. Things happen for a reason, scratch your head, go to the basic facts and you'd figure it out. I don't think the attackers gained anything from the attack, there are more proper civilised ways to show the world your opinions, killing people and firing missiles is not one. It's sad how the world can't live in peace.

I thank from all of my heart Tom Adelstein who during this interview not all became someone I enjoy talkin' to, but a real close friend. I'm honored that I know Tom, I'm learning alot from him every singel day. I'd like to also thank abdelqader Jaradat & Steffen Macke for their extraordinary help by providing me information about BMFO.
Your feedback is highly appreciated. Read the Interview.

It's almost 4 am, trying to figure out the best way to do RAD developemnt. Well, basicly I built a database schema, I want something to crawl my tables and generate generic forms that I can customize later. Things like Update/Insert/Delete and so on. As I'm a huge fan of PEAR and a PEAR developer I looked there first. I found
DB_DataObject_FormBuilder
. Will see how things go with it.
