The long awaited MySQL release is out. Probably the most 3 important new features are: Stored Procedures, Triggers & Views.

I've always liked MySQL because it was a stripped down version of bigger RDBMS, and this is why it was lightning vast, I feel they were pressured to go this direction. It would be really hard to add these features without a performance hit. It would be cool if we can see some benchmarks soon!

On Thursday I joined a group of 20 people from the region to come here to Aqaba to brainstorm about how OpenSource can help Media; quite an interesting topic. Amman Net organized the whole thing.

Two guys from czech who represent "Media Development Loan Fund" funded this event. The event is takin place at the really nice brand new Aqaba Intercon.

Yesterday, Friday, was the first day. We got introduced to all the participants, there are people from: Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Libya, Qatar. Representing diverse companies/Organizations like aljazeera.net, Islam Online and Others.

In a short time I'll be presenting with Isam the state of OpenSource in Jordan.

My account has been suspended for 3 or 4 days, my credit card expired, so I had to wait for the new one to be reactivated!

After you login you search for or import feeds from other apps. Then you'd get this really nice yet simple interface. You can also navigate with keyboard shortcuts, makes life much easier.

What a week, today I just woke up to find "SIM card rejected" on my mobile! I tried to take the SIM card out and insert it into another mobile with no luck! I need a new SIM card. How on earth did that happen, I have no clue, the cell phone was in a drawer next to my bed all night long. I do believe in Voodoo.....
