What happened in Aqaba today started a debate on Roba's blog and other blogs. It's probably the first time I write a political entry, hopefuly not the last.

First of all, terrorism needs a better definition. As the term caught fire after WTC attacks doesn't mean I totally agree on using it. Some people defending their countries and freedoms are referred to as terrorists, depends which media you like to listen to.

What happened today qualifies as a terrorist attack in my opinion. But doesn't mean that Jordan is now the home of terrorists, infact I feel safe more than ever, what happened is minor, it pissed me off, ok. But I'm not afraid. And oh for those who think that they're fighting our freedom, please give me a break, it's just like playing back a low level IQ american's comment after WTC attacks. Things happen for a reason, scratch your head, go to the basic facts and you'd figure it out.

I don't think the attackers gained anything from the attack, there are more proper civilised ways to show the world your opinions, killing people and firing missiles is not one. It's sad how the world can't live in peace.

Maybe my political IQ isn't as quite advanced as yours

When fear of something happening can alter your lifestyle; it is deemed an attack on freedom. If a bomb went off in a nightclub for instance, wouldn�t you be afraid of going to nightclubs, at least for a while?

A question from a standard high-IQ'd American: What exactly are the 'basic facts' about 9-11 that the less enlightened then you are supposed to know after scratching our heads?

the basic fact is that 9-11 wasn't an attack on "freedom" those terrorsists didn't attack you because you had freedom. You can find out the rest, I'm not a political person, my political opinions shouldn't make any difference

You claim the USA wasn't attacked because we have freedom. I don't agree .. but perhaps we can agree that those who attacked us did so (in part) because they don't have freedom. As for the rest, look to jealousy and hatred as motivators. What supplies the fuel for the ignorance and hatred is Arab culture (which is mainly formed by Islam).
Now it's up to you to figure out the facts (and you don't have to be 'political' to figure them out).
All men are created equal. However, all religions are not equal. Find this fact Mr. Ibrahim: Which religion has produced the most tyrants in both the medieval and the modern world? Which religion systematically holds in contempt freedom, women, progress and objective truth? What is the name of the religion that put forward a beloved despot who ruled Iran and wrote treatises on how to have sex with animals instead of woman (women would contaminate - animals would not) (and this was only one despot among all the others who rule all over the Islamic world) What religion was founded by a man whose claim to fame was as a warlord, a thief, a murderer, a misogynist and a child molester?
If you've guessed Islam then give yourself a gold star.

Well I agree with yazan, as we cannot predict their style of attack then we should be very careful
