Hello from Aqaba

On Thursday I joined a group of 20 people from the region to come here to Aqaba to brainstorm about how OpenSource can help Media; quite an interesting topic. Amman Net organized the whole thing.

Two guys from czech who represent "Media Development Loan Fund" funded this event. The event is takin place at the really nice brand new Aqaba Intercon.

Yesterday, Friday, was the first day. We got introduced to all the participants, there are people from: Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Libya, Qatar. Representing diverse companies/Organizations like aljazeera.net, Islam Online and Others.

In a short time I'll be presenting with Isam the state of OpenSource in Jordan.

Mabrook, Ammar! Have fun down there.

I have an unrelated question...I read in a magazine lately that there is a school in Jil'aad that has computers just sitting gthering dust waiting to be installed. Would some of you computer wizards at jordan planet be willing to invest a day up there installing the computers so these kids have a chance to enter our world?
