What the hell is wrong with Jordanian Credit Cards

I just tried to book a hotel on expedia.com. The site keeps refusing my credit card, although my bank made sure I can do online transactions. I called the credit card dept. of the bank, and the guy told me that on his screen he can see that it's being refused of possible fraud. Why the hell can't this guy call the online payment company and tell them everything is OK, and that this client is Legit.

Anyhow, I called the hotel directly, and had no choice but to book through the phone, this way I will be paying $100 extra every night! That's so unfair.... I really feel like hitting someone

Anyhow, tonight I will be leaving Lyon and heading to Paris around midnight. I will try to go to Amesterdam to spend a day to enjoy the wild city...

Ammar I think you are not the only one, my friend last week used his credit card from a local ATM and got money, but yesterday he tried and the ATM told him that his card isn't accepted.

Same thing happend to me last summer, I ended up reserving via phone too, and to make matters worse I got a msg from my bank telling me to call them as soon as possible due to "unusual activity" on my credit card, they wanted my approvel, apperently i was buying laptops in bulk! but it all worked out in the end..

this is not specific to Jordanian Credit Cards...

my german card processor eliminated my account credit because of an automatic fraud algorithm. in the consequence I stood in Frankfurt with the serving taxi-driver without beeing able to pay...

What happend is that some companies wont accept any CC unless the billiing address of that cc is verified. So basically the fraud system checks your cc billing address, when you've issued your bank it was given a Jor address, many website just refuse Jor addresses.

You should call your bank and ask them for any possible solution (ok, don't call, drive to the main branch, meet with the cc manager, and pray s/he are smart enough)

Good luck, I had same problem before. One solution is calling (email or fax) the place your paying money to, and explain the situation to them, sometimes they might be helpful and sometimes they'll go all patriotic and think they are stopping terrorists or something.
